Bernard – Visitors center

The visitor center will have maximum multifunctional use. Primarily it is considered for excursions, as a lounge for other events, lectures, team buildings, conferences, company parties, training, etc.

The space can be divided into two to three units, which will be variable depending on the situation, using mobile partitions. It is,of course, possible to use the whole area for one action only as well.

The area is dominated by a bar made from Bernard beer bottles that is defined by four columns and a window with a view on the chilled copper storage tanks with Bernard beer. On the walls is stucco in a pleasant beige shade, which is complemented by infographics about beer brewing and the history of the brewery. Visitors can relax and study everything with a glass of well chilledBernard beer in their hand before or after the excursion.

Since the reconstruction concerns old fermentation vessels, the architectural intention is to build on the history of the building and link the newly built with the past. The wooden arches on ceiling copy the shape of the vaulted arches of the 2nd floor.

The lighting of the space is primarily solved by the system of dimmer reflector leds in the ledges. In addition, suspended black and copper arc lights are used for sitting at round tables. The space can be obscured by electronically controlled shutters hidden in the wooden arches, which also hide air-conditioning, audiovisual, visual and other equipment.

The choice of materials corresponds to the function of the floors. Gray cement screed is on the floor. Tables are wooden with black metal constructions. Seating is  a mixture of several kinds of chairs from different materials.

Padded benches are made of washable dark gray fabric and have a copper plinth. The interior design proposal is dominated by the Tondina Pop chair with its copper construction and plastic seat, which is comfortable and easy to maintain. Further wooden chairs in two colors and Antonín Šuman padded chairs refurbished with copper details. Refurbished furniture is part of the concept which continues where the newly built follows up on history: “Old meets new”. The space’s capacity is 128 seats.

The cooperation with Bernard brewery was possible thanks to Hezkey s.r.o.
